Telcordia and TIA allow a 0.3 dB maximum splice loss.
Connector loss is always measured as a mated pair.
ITU & IEC allow 0.5 dB loss, TIA allows 0.75 dB loss per mated pair.
Splitter loss values are "Typical" and include a connector in and out. These values are approximate and should not be exceeded by more than 1-1.5 dB, which could indicate dirty connectors, bad splices, or macrobending.
If using cascaded splitters (e.g., 1x2 to 2ea. 1x8), select the final number of splitters (e.g. 1x8 Splitter Qty: 2). If 1x4 to 1x4 to 1x4 daisy chain with one forward port and 3 drops, each splitter would contribute a 6 dB drop. input would be 1x4 Splitter Qty: 2 if measuring at the second splitter, or 1x4 Splitter Qty: 3 if measuring at the third splitter.
