Splitter Configuration Instructions:

It is important to note that each stage represents the value for all splitters tied to the primary splitter's ports. Example: Assuming an input of 0 dBm, the first splitter is a 1x4 with an output decreased to -6 dBm on all 4 ports, Stage 2 with a 1x4 would have an output of -12 dBm on all 4 ports, adding a third 1x4 stage would be an output of -18 dBm on all ports. Let's say that there was a 1x8 at the second stage, giving a 15 dB loss, -6 dB at the 1x4 and -9 dB at the 1x8. Adding a third stage with a 1x4 would decrease the signal by 6 dB giving us -21 dBm. If you have mixed splits at a stage i.e. 1x2 and 1x4, change the value to the correct split (1x2), record the loss for the ports on that splitter (18 dB), then change the value to the next value (1x4), and that loss would be for all of those ports (21 dB).
